If your friend wants to write music for demos or games,
I recommend Moonblaster 1.4. It uses step-time sequenceing
and has a fast assembly replay routine. I don't know if it's
still sold by Sunrise.
Other programs: Protracker, Soundtracker, Koustracker, and soon
Oracle by Fuzzy Logic. (this one is gonna be goOD!)
Maybe he likes MML (like basic PLAY) composing, in this case
he could use MuSICA or SME 3.

I think it takes 2 MSX2+'s and some link cable. (RS232?)
