FIrst off all,i would like to say thank you to help me...
I know that is not correct to do a disk acess with d0~d7 ports.THe
microsoft official release for mSX saiD"DO NOT USE PORTS,USE BIOS 'CAUSE
PORTS CAN BE DIFFERENT IN OTHER MACHINE...")
But let me tell you a short story...
in 1990,here in BRAZIL,two guys from SAO PAULO,SP made a program called
FASTCOPY.This program could copy a 360k or 720k floppy disks faster than
a PC...(In that time the standart was the AT 286)..Believe me,i tested
this program and it really worked!!!!
i found out that this amazing program did this with the independent disk
acess...and i was right!!!!i disassembled the program and there was the
instruction set:OUT (&hD0),a IN a,(&hd1)....
And more:i tested in 2 MSX-2.0 (OBS:In that time here in BRAZIL,it was a
dream have a japanese MSX!!!)and it worked too!!!
another story...
in the same time,it was very expensive have a MEGAROM GAME here...(and a
guy called ADEMIR CARCHANO did a cartridge called MEGARAM,wich you could
load games from disk into a RAM,or MEGARAM...it was a 128k RAM cartridge
and it was usefull for us "cause here in BRAZIL everything is
expensive...I never heard about a MEGARAM cartridge around the world
,but this is another point...)
So ,we wanted to play NEMESIS...But we didn't have money...What could we
do??NOthing,except for a crazy man that did a NEMESIS DISK VERSION
without MEGARAM....Yes,you could play a 128k game with the original 64k
ram built-in MSX...
i disassembled the game AGAIN,and there was OUT(&hd0),a
In(&hd1),a...
ANd this disk had a different format,in other words you couldn't copy it
on a MSX,only on a PC with DISKCOPY COmmand...
So,that's the question:Brazilian programer's was wrong???But why all
these softwares worked on Japanese "Standart"MSX??????
Please,ask me,and send any information about ports,cause it's a
challenge for complete a WIndows small Similar program for msx.i have
information for all ports(Printer,video,keyboard,etc...),but I NEED THE
DISK PORTS!!HELP ME!!!! :-)
