] I assume this is also your problem. To access Unix systems, Ansi or vt52 is
] not good enough. You need vt100 or higher.
I have used my MSX to accesss NLnet, before I configured internet under Linux.
Anyway, I just told the shell that I was using a vt52 terminal, and it was
supported :-) (remember, Unix has its roots way back in the 70's when the DEC
vt52 terminal was a common terminal type).

Depending on the login shell you are using, you should enter one of the
following commands to set the terminal:
kourne shell, bourne shell, posix shell, bash, ???:
TERM=vt52
export TERM

csh, tcsh, ???:
setenv TERM vt52

If you want to be sure if your internet access provider supports the vt52
terminal, you can enter the following command at the Unix prompt:
strings /etc/termcap | grep -i vt52
If you get some lines on your screen with VT52, vt52, or something like that
in it, you can be sure that vt52 is supported.

Best regards,
Alex
