Hello there,

1. I got some messages stating:

>I had uploaded "xxx" to funet,
>but the files do not seem to be there. When I tried to upload
>them again, I got a 'file already exists' message.

The Funet (MSX) archive is a public archive. If a file gets uploaded to any
incoming dir, it has to be validated by the administrator/maintainer (in
this case: me) before it gets permission for anonymous retrieval.
"Validating" includes checking the archive, testing the software, and
converting wrong archive formats.

Because of that, it isn't possible to retrieve files from the incoming dir.
If a file is uploaded, it doesn't disappear, it just hasn't got read permission.

2. File formats

These are preferred formats, because they're easily readable on a real MSX
_and_ most other platforms as well.

Archives: *.arj, *.lzh, *.pma, _NOT_ *.zip *.rar please
Disks: *.xsa, *.dsk, _NOT_ *.ddi or unknown MSX-only formats please

I'm not sure there's a *.dsk extractor available for MSX(DOS), but that
can't possibly be very difficult to write, can it ?

3. After you upload

Send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a description. If it's important
to you or someone else that the file is available fast, mention it. I don't
logon to funet every day, but I do read the mail on a daily basis.

You can also upload a txt with description to incoming, but I prefer mail.
