You can visit the falcom site at:

Download 'njwin' for PC to view Japanese fonts under win95. If you don't
sometimes some of the pictures won't display due to your browser not
being able to distinguish between text and gif/jpg header.
They've got montly calendars of their current games, you can download
xg/gm/gs midi files of their games (ys series etc.), you can download
free demos and sometimes even free games for PC.
They developed software for the PC98 (japanese pc, very slow) for a
while but now most of their games are released for Playstation and.....
Windows 95. When I was in Tokyo last
winter I bought Vantage Master (strategy with sorcery) for PC and they
even released the follow ups of the Ys series for Win95 (Ys Eternal).
the best part is that they run fine under my dutch version of win95.
Maybe someone will eventually translate those into english also like
with Dragonslayer, Sd Snatcher etc. I think
hunting for the kanji/kana/hiragana on PC isn't that different from MSX.
Falcom has just re-released the legend of heroes series for the
playstation. And I can vaguely remember that they released a sorcerian
for Win95 also.
There's also a new soundtrack: The very Best of Ys...
In akihabara you can even get an original
SD Snatcher if you are willing to pay huge prices for it.
The second hand MSX stores still do very good business there!
You can get alsmost all msx-1 cartridges second hand....
and I also bought an original Hydelide III msx-2. (Btw, has anybody got
the acommpanying tape that came with the msx-1 anniversary version as an
mp3?)
And then there is the Sega Saturn, they released Falcom Classics II
for it.
And then there's COMPILE. They still make discstations allbeit for
win95. They are released every two months. Untill 4 months ago they were
runnable on non Japanese windows too. But with the current versions I
can't get more than half of the games to work.
they released Puyo Puyo for PC and Playstation and on the Playstation
it's my favourite game...
Konami made a game called puroyaku baseball for the Playstation
which is similar to Pennant race. The also released a puroyaku baseball
95 and 98. the gameplay is much the same as on msx.
They also released project overkill which got a feel and ambiance like
Metal gear 1 and is 2D, but the game is isometric.
And then there are Gradius Gaiden (playstationised Nemesis) and Gradius
Deluxe Pack (with gradius I and II (equivalent to nemesis I and III))
and Salamander Deluxepack...
I last spotted Microcabin on a Japanese psx mag called hyper playstation
remix with on de demo cd a demo of a game in which you had to skateboard
throug a town and do wheelies etc.. It was 3D....
Anyone got any more news about these companies?
Btw.
If anybody is interested in some recent compile discstation stuff
I'll put it up on my page. You know what? I think I'll go to Japan this
sunday to see what else is new. I'll ask the guys from fony to come with
me.... ;)
