TILBURG 1999 is ON !!!!
About: Tilburg 1999 !
Sorry for not reacting earlier, but here is the current status about
the Tilburg 1999 fair !
The reason behind the "silence" is not a lack of interest on our
part, on the contrary, but because of posponing the decision in the
hope we could go on as before.
It looks like we will not be able to organise this fair in its former
size.
This does NOT mean that Tilburg 1999 will be cancelled !!!
Let's make some things clear...
Up till now (december 15) there have only been 18 places reserved by
standholders. When we fill 4 stands ourselves, that gets us to 22...
It is so that the Bremhorsthal (note: name of the usual location) is
only reasonably filled when occupied with some 60 to 70 stands.
With this number of reservations we can and will surely not use the
Bremhorsthal. Ofcourse there are still reservations coming in, but
the difference between now (22 stands) and the needed number of 60 is
just too big.
We feel it is not right to receive the public in a large hall where
the standholders occupy a single corner. This would not do justice to
the MSX.
Apart from that, the rent for the Bremhorsthal including stands,
electricity, furniture, etc. is fairly high (4000 to 5000 Dutch
guilders).
We expect that because of the falling away of the MCCM, the magazine
that was of great importance for us for informing the target
audience, the number of visitors will surely decrease.
It is ofcourse always fun to meet each other again, but chances are
it would become a very costly meeting for us.
I would like to ask you to be patient for a couple of more days, as
we are negotiating for a different location !
There will be a somewhat different setup then.
WE WANT TO ORGANISE A BIG MSX MEETING THEN in a local community
center.
The cost will then be low for the participants (30 Dutch guilders per
3 meters table, including 3 standholder-tickets) and a low entrance
fee (2,50 Dutch guilders) for the visitors. For now, we are still
planning for the same date (remark: which would be?)
It is still of great importance that we can count on a sufficient
number of participants, and that you promote this day and make it
known to all interested parties !
SO STOP THESE NEGATIVE MESSAGES AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE COMES TO
TILBURG !!!!
DO LET US KNOW WHO WILL BE JOINING THIS DAY !!!!
So don't pospone and let us know quickly by a mail if you want to
come (also if you registered before. We will ofcourse need to know if
you will also be joining in this changed setup...)

MSX-MEETING will be held.
