I have just come across problems with my Floppy disk drive in my MSX
turbo R, and I solved then with a bit of luck, so as I remember someone
asked about this here, I just send my personal experience based advise:

I habd problems with the FDD rubber (is this the name in English?)
because it was to wide and FDD couldn't read/write files from/to disk so
I just bought one in the local electronic shop (I live in a small city
so everyone should be abble to find this rubber in any big city)

I changed it but I still had a silly FILE NOT FOUND or DISK I/O ERROR
(I don't remember) so I tried to investigate the drive and I found out
this:

There is a rotation control in the lower side of the drive that, I think
couldn't read correct rotation speed because of the new rubber. So as
far as I could find out, it has somethig to so with the position of the
drive header (the mobile part of the drive that reads disk (upper
side)). So I just tried to put my hands over the drive and transfer my
energy to it... ;) I touched the header trying to up it to a upper
position and it worked... so just TRY TO MODIFY THE ANGLE THE HEADER
ATTACHES THE DISK SURFACE by modifying or changing the spin (is it the
name in english for this objects in car suspensions?)... my God, I've to
start studing english again!!!!

Bye
