  Everyone is talking about JPEG in MSX... I must talk too! :)

  I'm using two nice japanese programs, it is JPD  (JPEG  Decoder)  and
  JPE (JPEG Encoder). You can download this softwares in:

  JPE and JPD requires a MSX2+ with MSX-DOS2 and memory. I display JPEG
  files with 1024x1280 without problems* in JPD. You can show the image
  in SCR12, SCR8 and in SCR7 (grayshade) and convert the view to  BSAVE
  format.

  And if you have SCR12 images you can convert it to JPEG using JPE, is
  very simple just typing "jpe filename",  but  the  image  can  be  in
  interlaced mode (and in two files SCC and S1C). Is slow? Well, if you
  can wait 1 minute for it...
