Yaroze is Sony's official PSX development platform for home users. But
there is also an unofficial PSX development scene growing. Look at:
http://napalm.intelinet.com/
With some extra hardware you can run home-made programs on a normal PSX.
One option is a serial cable from PC to PSX together with a PSX boot CD
containing a serial I/O program. The other is an Action Replay extension
and a parallel cable. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I have read a lot
about it.
