Hello Friends!

I just "repared" a B-Drive sold by "iGTH&H inkoopbureau" in 1996, Model: SONY
MP-F17W-12. This drive didnt work with a Sony HB-D700, but had been "tested=OK
/ MSX only".

But what I saw when I opened the case declared everything to me:

Pin 34 of the connector normaly has DiscChange signal in this Drive. So a Diode
to DriveSelect had been mounted to simulate ReadySignal (Its OK). BUT THE
DISKCHANGE SIGNAL WAS NOT REMOVED!!!! So the two signals disturbed each other.
Terrible mistake! And those drives were sold in Tilburg e.g.!

My "Repair":

I removed that Diode. And near Pin 34 there are some soldered jumpers (SL2). I
recognized that the jumper places A and B are connected to Pin 34 and only
jumper B was in place. This jumper connected Pin 34 to DiscChange. I removed it
and sold it to place A. Now a true ReadySignal is connected to Pin 34 and the
drive works well with the Sony.

Is it possible that there are more drives that doesnt work????

Bye

Martin
