Sorry, I have not the time now to extract all these texts from the file... It
would mean a lot of cutting and pasting... Maybe you can do it? Just put the
files of the French KK2 on a diskimage, view the diskimage with an editor like
VIM, type over the French texts, type the English translation below (or Dutch,
but I'd prefer English) and mail it to me. I will then implement the
translation. But Andre van Dun is also working on a translation, since his
girlfriend reads/writes French. But I don't know if he has the appropriate
software to view the binaries with the French texts.
One thing to bear in mind for the translators: in the French translation, all
enemy names are given a French name. To see the original names, just download
the KingKong2 ROM file from e.g. ftp.komkon.org and replace them with the
original names. Those names are also used in the texts (it seems hints are
given how to beat some enemies).
I did some translation-work already: replaced the French-enemy names in the
name-list (but not in the hint-texts), and fixed the LIFE, SHOT, GOLD, etc.
and the introscreen to the original (English!) texts. And I translated some
easy French phrases.
