I made a patch to a cracked version once. This patch makes it possible to
save to disk but only directly to specific sectors. The patch can be found
on an old QUASAR disk from MSX CLUB GOUDA.
Later I heard a rumour that someone had made a variation of it which use
real files. This is much safer than sectors of course so if it's true then
you should look for that version.
