I had this same idea once. I even started emulating the 6502. Apart from
the decimal mode, it should be working although I haven't been able to
actually test it.
I abandoned the project though, because the videochip of C64 is very
difficult to emulate on a system like MSX. Even Gfx9000 would have troubles
I think (weird sprite-sizes, C64 games use lots of raster-effects).

Then I thought I'd try a NES emulator, but it's pretty hacky as well... I
mean, all those 6502 based systems don't have 'clean' hardware like MSX
does! However, maybe it's possible to get some small games working, but I'm
having troubles even loading stuff from disk! (I get weird characters on
screen on my MSX2+, and fMSX starts a _FORMAT!!)
Man... I hate BDOS... Or maybe my memoryswitching routines are flawed, who
knows...
