Sure I'll be the first to admit I sometimes get a little overexcited, but
come on... How many on this list are commercial game developers? I've only
been for a couple of months, and yes I get excited when I get to talk to
Konami, Infogrames, SNK, Kemco etc. Maybe you've gotten used to it?

AFAIK the E3 is also a consumers show. Even on the ECTS students were
allowed the first day. The second day was a lot more serious.
You say the E3 is more of a show, I think it's too much of a show. Although
I haven't actually been there, to be honest. Anyway, I liked the ECTS in
that it seemed to me to be a good mix between trade and show.

Sure, but most companies were very glad to talk to some developers in stead
of those 'suits'. :)

That's bullshit. Paul did know about SD-Snatcher, he explicitly said HE
gave permission for the Konami stuff on MCCM CD, and he told me some inside
info as well... Sounds to me you've never talked to him personally!

Okay, so he wasn't "leader of the team", I haven't actually asked him about
MGS because that didn't interest me. I'm sure he had some leading function,
either below Hideo or in a different field of development.

Hey, let me be a little enthusiastic okay? ;)

That's true, I've heard that at the ECTS itself too. But that doesn't mean
anything. I didn't go to the ECTS to see impressive booths or get
merchandise! ECTS has been very productive for me...

Eidos was there, although I didn't talk to them. I didn't need to either.

Yeah, So? Who said I haven't been behind a few curtains?!

I don't care about C&C, or first glimpses of some future console I probably
won't be programming anyways.

Anyway... I think both of us went to the ECTS with different expectations,
different goals and with a different point of view, hence the different
perception.
