I assembled an "ESE - SCC" device , which does exactly what you want
...
(Also it's a great megaram device too ... Even more useful than the
Brazilian ones ...)
=)

It has an power "watch dog" circuit which doesn't alows the memory
contents to erase ...
Even better , it can hold DOS2 kernel and ramdisk , 100% compatible with
other ESE devices
(Aka MegaSCSI)

You can even play Metalgear 2 english (the rom image) on it ... =)

The better part is that you can assemble it yourself , which is the
best part of
the whole history ... All you will need is an original Konami cartridge
(I used space manbow)
512 KB sram , some TTLs , a lot of wire-up and a LOT of GUTS ... =)

If you want , I can provide more info about ESE-SCC ... (Also , there
is info available at
the world wide web.)

BTW : I think that the same way it's possible to put the DOS2 kernel on
ESE SCC or ESE RAM devices
It should be possible to do on your SRAM cartridge ... But I think you
will have to do it yourself ...
