I think the same way as you. Leonard had changed MoonBlaster FM to work with
OPL3. The only thing is that the 6 Wave channels do not work. It could be
changed to work with 6 channels of FM (OPLL) and them we have a great FM
program...
Also, games can support Moonsound and OPL3 with minimal effort. They just need
to reproduce the main music using FM if OPL4 is not detected, and disable the
main channel of FM and play it throught wave if OPL4 is detected. (-:
The nice one is that OPL3 also emulates MSX Audio (without ADPCM part), just
like Moonsound. Leonard show them side by side (Moonsound and OPL3) and the
sound is exactly the same, when comparing only the FM part.
