Having the same problem (again) I can tell you it's only the ribbon.
No wonder, you have used your turboR already for many many years ;)
The ribbon is cheap and _very_ easy to replace but it's rather hard to
find a suitable one.

PS I believe spare parts for tR are still sold in Japan so perhaps you
may ask somebody fron Japan to send you the real thig (coca cola is it)
if you cann't find any suitable there where you live.
