Hello All, I have only just joined the list and thought I should
introduce myself and of course ask a few questions. My name is Declan
Gorman and I come from Ireland. I have an old Mitsubishi MLF80, an MSX1
I think but am not certain, which has ceased working a number of years
ago. I am looking to get it working again, mainly for the sake of
having it working and to play my old games. I always found the power
switch to be very unreliable on this particular model and remember
having to have it replaced a number of times. This led me to by pass the
switch and wire it the transformer straight to the mains power supply.
This had worked for a number of years until, well, it didn't work any
more.
I reckon the transformer is the problem and will replace it, but what
type of transformer is it? Does anyone know or know where I can find
out?
I am also going to check out the emulators available for my pc and
amiga but from what I can see from the various msx websites, FMSX seems
to be the best and most popular. Is there any utilities available to
convert my existing cartridges and tapes to work with these emulators?
I am sure they are probably already available but just in case.
What else goes on in the MSX world of today?
That seems to be my lot for now so I look forward to reading some
more. Thanks for listening.
Declan.
