Hello,
As far as I know, most of these diskdrive interfaces are
capable in handling double sided diskdrives. It might be
you will have trouble formatting a disk. But some interfaces
I have seen, work very good with a new diskrom.
This diskrom is most of the time in a socket, so replacing
it should not be difficult.
