On THIS CD ROM
Here we are! You are about to discover the content of this first
Magazine MSX on CD Rom, Created from the collaboration and from
the efforts of the ICMiri Group Italy! It looked as if it is not
ever arrived at the end, the ideas really was many, but the
resources to disposition and the time there has allowed to do a
product really beautiful but that surely will be better in future.
For first thing, what is the ICM Magazine on CD Rom. It represents
the exploitation of the resources of a Personal Computer for
obtain something regarding only the MSX! There do it seems a
contradiction? To us no, think to it well, by now everybody has
a PC and some of them also a MSX, we have therefore thought of
put the two belongingses together for create a multimedial product
that speaks only about MSX, and some parts of the cd works also,
with some limitation, on the MSX system! Multimedial? Certainly!
If you check on the cd, or directly through his management menu,
creation from us, will find varied sections (directory): from
the filmed in Real Video to the images, to the magazines in PDF
ENTIRELY To COLORS and printable, to the games and to the audio
tracks! Particularly relatively to this one, we advise you that
if you will insert this CD on a common audio CD Reader or you
will use a program able to play audio CD on your PC/ MSX
(we have connected the CD Player of Windows to a button present
in the window of right), you will notice that there are different
audio tracks! Fantastic! But now we can speak about the structure
of the CD and his program of management. This issue it is ispired,
as you can see and listen, in a particular way to Konami.
I list briefcases and meanings:
Client:In this directory you will find any programs for PC that
there will allow of use the section multimedia and magazine of
the CD.
ACDSEE: program that allows the visualization of
images in fully grown varieties
Acrobat Reader: program in Italian/English that
allows to read the .PDF files.
WinPlay: able to reproduce musical files .MP3
R16_50it.exe: program of installation of Real Video
for the vision .RM files
WINAMP26_FULL.EXE: program of installation
of Winamp, reproducing different files .MP3, MID
and audio tracks
Emulators: In this directory you will find the FMSX emulator for DOS
and Windows with the relative system ROMs
Films: Contains any filmed in fully grown .RM made by our friend
Italo Valerio
Games: for someone perhaps the better directory.
In this one you will find many games directly ready for use
(u only need to copy it on a 720Kb floppy and use on your MSX),
probably someone also works from CD!
Cheast/Demo: some graphic/musical demo
Promos: some promo of old and new games
Msx1: Disk-> decompacted games ready to use
Konami-> Konami games ready to use
Rom-> files in .ROM format, this one works with the
relative utility called LOADROM also on the CD
Msx2: Disk-> decompacted games ready to use, some of these is
in .DSK format; for recreate the original MSX
diskette you use the utility called DCOPY
presented in: \UTIL\Archive\PC\DCOPY
Rom-> like MSX1 Roms
Msx2+: the MSX2+ game F1Spirit 3D in .DSK format, whose diskettes
1and 2 can be recreated always with the utility called
DCOPY presented in: \UTIL\Archive\PC\DCOPY
Images: images in different format about fairs, MSX hardware, and
the MATRIX
Magazine: Contains the ICM Magazine #41, the ICM Magazine #42
Italian and the ICM Magazine #42 English version in PDF
format. You can see it using the Acrobat Reader
(that you will have installed early).
It is also present the directory TXT that contains the
articles in ascii text of the Italian and English magazine
(for the MSX users that not have the paper version)
Misc: utility or programs of varied type, this time you can find
some .STP files for dinamic publisher made by Javier Dorado!
Music: varied musical files in different formats: MID, MOD, MP3,
MWM (for OPL4), you can play it with the program installed
early.
PDF: some documents in PDF, in this directory you can find the
Calendar of the 2000!
Util: The directory Archive entertains programs of decomact for PC
and MSX some necessary for the present formats on the CD
(.DSK/ .720). The MSX directoy contains utilities ready to
the use, for MSX, between which the last adjournments for
the IDE!!
On the principal directory of the CD (Root) it is present the
LEGGIMI.TXT/README.TXT file that reassumes this text.
ICMCD.EXE Programs created by Frengo
This program allows the users of sail automatically in the sections
of the cd, for use it put the monitor resolution of 800x600
(also 1024x768 can go well). The screen is divided in 4 sections:
The buttons aloft, the list of the files/programs/documents to left,
some icons of management to the right, and the information in low.
To the center of the screen you can see the images, with the
possibility of the 'STRETCH' in case are too big.
IMAGES: Some images separated for category (there are varied
categories that the user can choose using the button present to
the up of the left list).
Magazine: The ICM Magazine #41, #42 and #42 English Version, use
the double Click
of the mouse for their selection or the icon in the right window
Programs: Some Programs that you can install (used from the cd)
and usable directly from CD. The installation of some programs is
necessary for use the PDF files and the films in RM.
Multimedia: here there are varied sections: PDF (Documents), Films,
MIDI and MP3 (musical files). You can use the double Click of the
mouse for their selection or the icon in the right window.
Electronic ICM Magazine
Few notes about it, it is the usual magazine not in paper but in
PDF format, graphic format of Adobe able to represent on the screen
documents. The program about it is Acrobat Reader that you can find
on cd, the program can be used from CD or installed by the PROGRAMS
button (recommended choice). His uses is rather simple, there are
the buttons aloft that they allow to advance/demote of page in page,
and the index on the left help you in the navigation. Through the
File Menu you can print the pages of the document!
