The answer is: JDSCDP, by Jon de Schrijder,
downloadable from the Sunrise website (and probably
also on the disk with IDE software).

It has not got a beautiful (semi-G)UI, in fact it is
command-line based, but it will do.

Also, a lot of the new IDE CD-players have got two
buttons on the front, one to play/forward the CD and
the other to stop/eject the CD. That is even easier
than using the audio-CD player.
