The ILOVEYOU virus is simply an attachment to your email. It won't start
automatically when you just look at the text in the mail (like Melissa did,
afaik).
The only thing related to it is that it spreads itself based on the Outlook
Express address book. But that could as well have been the Eudora address
book, except for that Outlook Express is used by a lot more people.
The damage if you open the attachment is the same whichever mail program you
use. However it will only spread when you've got Outlook Express.
It is really not a very 'nifty' virus, like Melissa was (which I, by the
way, never got either).
