It is really AWESOME.
Ten times better than The Lost World, which got me bored in five minutes...
Only fighting, talking, fighting, talking, etc. etc. etc.
RoA has non-linear gameplay, animated battles, cool puzzles ('find out which
one is lying about his family history', very original!!!), very good
graphics, still the same boring music (who's gonna make some new???), you
can pick up stuff while you're walking and your companions talk to you, you
can make your own decisions and go to the dark side etc, everytime you play
it it will be different. And it's still expanding... WHOW!
You can buy scrolls, and also learn them permanently (however the chance of
this succeeding depends on your character's intelligence)(you might have to
try twice before it works)... And you can get Karma and Mindforce, two very
bad things... Mindforce lets your karma increase every battle which in turn
results in less experience points... Fortunately, you can clear your karma
and decrease your mindforce at the church. You will also get karma if you
steal something... Also, your characters can specialize in several skills...
You can for example teach thievery to someone, which enables you to open
several locked boxes and get more cool stuff... Or you can train yourself to
master more types of weapons... You can also get a special skill which you
can use once per 'day' (yes, there is also a day-count).
And you can submit your own quest to the makers, so that it can be added in
one of the next parts (read the readme for that).
It's just not... boring. The Lost World really was, and PA3 too (in a much
lesser degree, btw). This game just has so many features, and if you're
stuck with the one thing you can temporarily do another quest if you want...
The first part was a bit short though... But it wasn't expensive either
(Dfl. 17,50, about 8 Euros). I am really waiting for the next part!!!
