At least one of the Japanese sides. :)
Maybe ASCII's relaunch of MSX Magazine sounds strange --
people would think: why ASCII should, again, spend money
with MSX at all? Are they willing to put money in a bottom-
less hole? If they're a serious company (and I bet they are,
else they wouldn't be alive today), then this obviously
means they don't intend to lose money.
This leads many of us to the following inference: if
they're, right now, putting money on MSX-related sub-
jects, this must mean they're going to release a new
MSX. Of course this makes no sense -- and it's a brief
of what we discussed the last few weeks.
There are other possible reasons for ASCII still be
spending money on MSX (in a way or in another). For
example, they want to capitalize their corporate image
by aggregating more fans under their wing. Many US and
Europe companies do that by promoting the fandom.
In sum, we can't be sure of anything unless someone
comes from ASCII or Heaven and tell us: Yes, ASCII
is working on a new MSX or had granted ESE permission
to develop it -- or No, we will not create a new MSX
but will continue to support it in some way.
And, I dare to say, not all Japanese users are friends
among them and, since they're human beings, it's highly
likely they don't always share the same opinions.
Then, please, I'd like to hear ASCII, ESE or even
Takamichi in first hand -- complete with arguments. :)
Thank you for your patience... A new MSX is clearly
a hot matter for any MSX fan.
