That's an old problem... you could just rename ddxdos.sys to msxdos.sys
(and sometimes also to solxdos.sys) and everything would work ok.

Try BR-MSX in MSX2 mode... I don't know about the ROM from the 80
column-card, but MSX2 has built-in 80 columns support...
