I apologize if I'm misinformed, but if you develop
a software which is dependant on the character table
then you should redefine it unless you only want to
run it on a particular country. I don't have a prin-
ted version of MSX Technical Handbook and couldn't
find quickly a copy to check it out, but I doubt
such a standard was defined for Brazil, for example.
Lucky for us BASIC-programmers that later Gradiente
and Sharp agreeded to use a more similar character
table (but, anyway, they never got the same).

If you say so, I'll believe it, but if some software
doesn't take in account such differences then it is
*more* incompatible than if they weren't standardized.
In a practical way, I'd say the software isn't com-
patible with the user, but it's still compatible with
MSX. :)

Btw, where can I find an online version of MTH? In
our beloved Ultimate MSX FAQ I could only find a
reference to M2TH...
