Well, it also takes time for news (specially in the case of binaries) to get
around the world. It also wastes a lot of bandwidth (also because several
requests are made for the same binary which is also posted more than once...
AND it disappears again later...) and not all newsservers will support the
binary group.
And, when Tristan is in a good mood, FUNet is updated quite fast! ;-)

Right, you have to know the filename. But then it is easy. Just download the
ls -lR file and search in it with some program.

That's what comp.sys.msx or the mailinglist can be used for. Send the
request there and if someone has it, (s)he can upload it to the FTP server.
