MSX Online update
===================

As you might already know MSX Online is my Internet Implementation for MSX,
running under MSX-Dos 2.

After finishing the dial-up and PPP before going on holidays, I have just
finished the IP protocol. It wasn't much work but because of a nasty thing
in the IPCP I was puzzled for some time. But now everything works fine, and
it is already possible to PING any server on the net.

I will now start working on TCP, which will be a tough job, involving things
like almost-multitasking (which I actually want to avoid as long as
possible) and a lot of buffers. I will try to find a compromise between
programming everything to be as fast as possible, but still having a good
base for future extensions like multitasking so that it will later be
relatively easy to implement those things.

As said, I don't expect programming TCP to be easy, but I guess it won't be
much harder than the PPP protocol (the LCP was a real pain in the ass), also
since I am now much better documented than a few months ago.

This is just a progress update, so there is still nothing to download, but
if you have any questions or remarks or requests you are free to ask me
about it. I hope to have something finished (like TELNET, FTP or IRC) by the
time the Bussum fair is being held.
