When I used a QIC-80 (long time ago, still must have it in the junkbox, sold
the tapes though)
it was connected to the floppy drive interface. In theory it should be
usable on a MSX.

Oops, just remembered that the QIC-80 tape drive is not an IDE device. It
was connected to the Shugart interface, so it's probably not interesting to
try to write a driver for MSX for it.
