It is possible. At the moment, you can select which partitions to use
initially when you boot up the system by disabling all partitions except the
partitions you want to have at boot-up. The number of enabled partitions are
equal to the number of drives which will be assigned for the IDE. The other
partitions can be selected for the drives using a program called IDEPAR.

When using FAT16 this is correct. When using the usual FAT12 the maximum
size for a partition is 32 MB.

The absolute maximum for IDE in this state is a hard disk of 8 GB. When
installing a master and a slave device for a single interface, it possible
to address 16 GB (2 x 8 GB)
