Manuel promised me documentation, and gave me a hint in the meantime to
check the machine for usability.
My first experiments with SET VIDEO showed no superimpose capabilities.
It does work with the SET VDEO command. I just had to change my way of
thinking. This Sony machine is quite different to thje NMS8280 which has
combined computer and superimpose output. That is separate on the 900.
So it does not superimpose on the normal monitor output connected to the
SCART. On the HBI-900P (the videotizer) there is a video input and a video
output, professional looking BNC connectors. And on the video output the
superimposing is shown, not on the computer output.
There is a composite output (which I used for this test) but also RGB BNC
connectors (I need to dig up a cable from my video junkbox..).
And getting the genlock switched on requires an argument to the SET VIDEO
command normally not used on the NMS8280.
The genlock argument is
SET VIDEO a,b,c,d,e,f,<genlock=1>,h
SET VIDEO 2,1,0,1,0,1,1 does the trick, the forelast 1 is the genlock
argument.
So I think it is quite easy to adapt some of the useful NMS8280 programs
such as Super Impose and Video for use on the HB-900.
I will keep you informed.
Hans
PS And still interested in tips, docs and software!

Subject: Sony 900P and videotizer
Hi,
Last night I bought a Sony 900P and videotizer machine.
So now I have both the NMS8280 and the Sony video MSX computers.
It works, but no documentation and any software was missing.
Any documentation available? Can i photocopy it fromsomeone? Special
software? Experience?
Oh, any comments on the PDF version of the V9938 scans made by Sean Young
at:
http://ganymede.spaceports.com/~hansmsx/ ?
