All floppy drives for PC are at default set as drive B:. The twist in the 
cable is to switch the drive select signals, so when you connect that drive 
after the twist, it will be drive A:

For MSX the jumper that is set over the drive B: (or something like sel.1, 
it should contain a 1 in it, 0 is drive A:) and move that jumper to the 
sel. 0 (drive A:) setting. Then you can use the cable which is in your MSX. 
Generally, the current HD floppy drives seems to require some extra changes 
to make it act as a DD-drive, however, I don't know what they should be.
