Hi Boys and Girls,

Some time ago, I also asked for your help on this problem and got some nice
answers (thanks to Martin and Philip).
But... this <<DELETED>> cartridge connector is still not working.

My setup:
I've got a Philips MSX PC card inserted in a Intel486@50Mhz, which is working
great. This card has got a 50 pins connector in order to connect a cartridge
slot to it, so I can use my cartridges (lot's of original Konami's, but that is
besides the point). I've connected a cartridge slot 'one to one' to it with a
cable smaller then 10 centimetres.

My problem:
After shortening the cable between the PC card and the cartridge connector from
50cm to about 5cm (yes, I admit I was desperate), something seems to happen at
startup. In stead of a normal startup, it takes the MSX a while longer to get to
the basic prompt, or the MSX goes in reset, but... STILL NO GAME!

What have I tried:
As said before, I've tried to shorten the cable from about 50cm to about 5cm (in
steps of about 5cm). This did however not give the desired effect (apart from
the fact that a 5cm cable is not very practical).

My questions:
How do I connect the cartridge slot so it will work. Do I need to make a 'one to
one' connection, or do I need (for instance) a cartridge slot from a Philips
8250 (which is also a 50 pins connection, but has 2 slots in stead of 1)? How
long can the cable be and do I need a terminator (like the ones found on a SCSI
bus)? Does someone have a schematic of how to connect a cartridge slot to this
card?

Hope somebody can help me solve this problem (would save a lot of deskspace
;-)).

Regards,

Jeroen Smael
