Yeah, I figured there had to be some sort of limit.
It occurred to me that a hard disk would let me save songs, but it
probably wouldn't be accessible from without the CX5M software and I'd
have no way of downloading programs...

CX5MII/128 (and if you make assumptions from Jipe's instructions, some
64Ks) have a mapper! So does this mean I can use an MSX DOS2 cart?
Incidentally, the instructions are confusing - is it the case that the
128K VRAM is installed as 64K on the motherboard (IC locations are
listed, so I'm assuming that's where they are) and 64K on the VRAM board
on the proper MSX2 models, or is it just a convenient workaround to only
use 2 chips on the 16K VRAM board when upgrading?
