And how would that help????

If someone on this list receives a virus runs it, the virus goes through
there contacts list collecting all the e-mail addresses from it (including
the mailing list if it's in the contacts list) and then sends itself out via
their account from a subscribed address. Even banning attachments wouldn't
help 'cos this happened to another mailing list I'm on, they ban attachments
but the BadTrans e-mail just found everyone's e-mail address that was in the
inbox and sent them the virus with the [DEAF UK] attachment in the subject
so it even looked as if it came from the mailing list.

solution

Hi-de-hi,

Just a thought: The majordomo has the list of ppl subscribed
to this mailing list. Why not set up a filter that only accepts mails
from a subscribed address.

Hm, as I'm typing this, I already know the answer: it's pretty
simple to fake a FROM field in a mail, so filtering on that won't
do any good.
