I've seen that one, yes (And zcc and z88dk, too :-)) and compared
the assembler put out by the compiler. HiTech's output seems
to be the most efficient, though. I also noticed that sdcc's asm output
is not quite 100% z80 assembler, but uses some weird conventions
(like writing 5(ix) instead of (ix+5)) which most probably stem from its
8051 background. That's not too bad if you're programming in pure C,
but I'll most probably want to mix in some asm sources of my own, too
and then it becomes less fun...
