It seems the mail went camping on one of the @Home mail servers for almost a
week.

Nope.

Finally, I'd like to add a remark related to the subject: it is not possible
to copy everything on MSX, because the FDC does not allow access on a low
enough level. Well, not the FDCs in the Philips and Sony machines anyway; I
doubt significantly different FDCs were used in other models. Not all
protections can be written in sector-at-once mode, for example overlapping
sectors. And because some values have a special meaning to the FDC, these
values cannot be written in track-at-once mode.

So there is a theoretical limit to what you can copy. In addition, there is a
practical obstacle in reading the input. You can do a track-at-once read, but
there is no easy way to know which magic byte sequences indicate a sector
start and which magic byte sequences are decoys. A really smart program which
be able to figure it out, but I have never seen a general purpose program
that can copy a Micro Cabin/Sunrise type protection, even though it is
possible to write those protections on MSX.

Some may say Formula can copy Cabin games, but in fact it doesn't write the
protection, instead it applies a crack to the copy (the data files that come
with Formula are crack templates for specific protections). This is why you
can copy a Formula copy of a Cabin game with any other copy program such as
FastCopy, while those programs cannot copy the original.

Bye,
                Maarten
