That was the thing I had in mind. In de tone editors (2-Op FM,
4-Op FM and Wave) you can create the 'basic' sound. Here you
can set the 'color' of the sound, e.g. waveform, attack, decay,
tremolo, vibrato or sustain.
In the Opl4 voice and drum editors you can make combi sounds,
using more than one channel, each containing relative volume,
coarse tuning, fine tuning and panning.

Don't know for sure. If the Opl4 is capable to do so, I don't

Good point. I'll offer the possiblity to set some values
to a random value in the tone editors.

If volume-ramping is the only way to avoide those nasty ticks,
I think have to use that technique anyway.
