I was thinking about EtherJet (or whatever is the name) LAN printer servers. Those devices have a parralel port on one end and a RJ-45 hook-up to your 10/100MBit ethernet network. They contain circuitry and firmware to handle TCP/IP. I think it is possible to hook up one of those devices to MSX printer port and ethernet. With the right software it could be the cheapest and most reliable solution.
