I suppose it's the playback device that makes the difference, not the MSX machine.
Sony's bitcorder were possibly of higher quality than Philips' datarecorders. At least the bitcorder looks more professional to me ;)
I remember having saved a Hydlide 3 game to a special computer cassette on a Philips datarecorder, but was unable to load it afterwards!


Also, if this Chase HQ tape recording was made with a normal audio cassette player, a lot of noise gets added.
