I realize now > it’s not the first time I did this wrong) ;) I'm not sure if this is the real reason, but I suspect the difference is in the way I sent my message -- I recently switched to using Reply all(*) and that means that the message goes "To: Rainer; Cc: mailing list" which means the message in your inbox comes directly from me (the mailing list avoids sending a copy to the recipients). This then affect how regular Reply works on your side. *) I had been always making sure that I'm replying only to the mailing list, but I recently subscribed to a mailing list that mandates using Reply all, because people can apparently post to the mailing list without being subscribed to it.
