That PKGBUILD is a work in progress and doesn't have official builds in the 
pacman repositories.

I have not tried, but of course you can.

The Git/Windows guys are making a move to using MSYS2 and there's a lot of 
activity there. I hope we can share the results of their work once an official 
release is done and make the mingw-w64-git package also available in vanilla 
MSYS2.
