Symlinks should be enabled by default. The user who does not like should
use somethink like this: export SYML=NO...


Bit you can't create them unless as non-admin unless you enter Developer
mode.

It would be nice though to detect all this in the installer or setup
scripts and provide guidance about Developer mode as I agree that it'd nice
use them when possible.
