Hi.

As you noted, spaces in paths are a pain point for POSIX-centric software 
unfortunately. I suspect you could also encounter issues in some MSYS2-specific 
parts, such as the installer, scripts (profile, makepkg-mingw, ...) and even 
some in software patched by MSYS2 that would otherwise be space-proof.

The "try and see" method sounds best, maybe with a bit of "send patches for the 
MSYS2-specific stuff if possible". I will try to get them merged.
