I see this a lot with vim and less. I suspect a problem somewhere in generic handling of alternate screen buffers and would expect the problem to occur sometimes with anything that uses them to go "full screen" in the terminal. A successful workaround is to lower scrollback to 2-3k lines (depends line width, I think). I'd like to be able to catch this in a debugger, but I haven't had any luck trying to build msys2 stuff in debug, so hopefully somebody here can point me in the right direction or help me get started.
