I assume that you mean then to start another Msys2 shell.

That didn't work, nor did appending ":enable_pcon" to 

set MSYS=winsymlinks:nativestrict

in msys2_shell.cmd, which is how I start my Msys2 shell.

If you're on Win10, you could try to enable the pseudo console.

Set in mingw64.ini:
MSYS=enable_pcon
