Hi,

this is just my 2 cents. As a temporary workaround, you might want to give
http://console.sf.net a try (unofficial version with few extra features is
available at http://kirill.ca/dblog/articolo.asp?id=15)

It's fully resizable "shell" over cmd.exe (with or without MSys, or Cygwin,
or Power Shell) that can do normal selection [in the visible area only].

Tabs are a bonus, alpha transparency is... well... I'm missing OS X
sometimes :)
