I started to prepare a snapshot release. The release
should contain the following changes:

 - git svn.
 - a recent master of official git (cf5c51efc9fe).
 - core.autocrlf=true.

Here is what I already have:

I merged mingw/master to 4msysgit/devel and pushed as
commit dbe5a3424bb8ff239b896ab0e888ef402dffa915.

All test pass except for test 10 of t7201-co.sh,
which fails because MSys modifies ":/Initial" like this:

$ git checkout ":/Initial"
error: pathspec ';C:/msysgit/Initial' did not match any file(s) known to git.
Did you forget to 'git add'?

I have no idea how to tell MSys to leave our string untouched.

Ideas?

I advanced msysgit/devel to msysgit/work/git-svn-preview;
updated the release notes and the versioning scheme; and push as
commit e9b2cd0af5cf7d9cca630ba1915a7c83f1f3e00f.

I did not yet update the submodules. I'd like to wait if someone
comes up with a good idea how to handle t7201 (see above).

Could you send me acks that "git svn" works with the current
combination of with 4msysgit/devel and msysgit/devel. I do not
use "git svn" and will not test it. Therefore, I'd like to
receive confirmation by someone others before I create an installer.

I propose to set core.autocrlf=true and pushed this as commit
dd6ab17a84fced9ead0ffd9f215a45ad40395a38 to
msysgit/work/autocrlf. If there is no objection I'll merge
this to devel.

I am awaiting your feedback. If everthing's ok, I'll advance
the master branches to the devel branches; update the submodules;
and package a new installer of Git-snapshot<DATE> style.

                Steffen
