I'm afraid that I can't find what I've done wrong with the .bashrc.
E.g., right now it is:
PATH="${PATH}":/home/me/mercurial-1.0.1:/home/me/git-1.5.6.1:.
It works fine interactively if I login via ssh, and finds git-upload-
pack if typed at the command line. But using msysgit commands, it
does not work. I realize your advice has worked for others, it just
hasn't worked for me! I'll reiterate I suspect there's some kind of
privilege revocation going on in the system I'm on so that ssh is
blocked from running .bashrc and arbitrarily setting paths--that's
probably a configuration problem I need to resolve elsewhere.
(Mercurial had the same problem, so I don't blame Git on that bit.)
The issue I am focusing on is why --upload-pack does not have the
expected behavior, when a similar switch managed to let me use
Mercurial. I'm seeking an explanation or workaround for that "C:
\Program" thing.
Thanks for the prompt response,
