UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES COLOGNE
in co-operation with:
Institute for Information Management (IIM) - University of Applied
Sciences Cologne Cologne Institute for Business Research (HA1)
The XXVI Annual Conference of the International Association Language
and Business deals with the use of language technologies for
customer-oriented services, which must be addressed if dynamic
business practices are to be used in this multi-media age. The
conference has three working languages: German, English and French.
The following groups of subjects will be dealt with in the various
sections: * Tools for in-company language support * Internet-based
language resources * Language as a vehicle for communication in
Internet services * Multilingualism in the Internet as seen by the
company * Multimedia applications in the company
The conference is aimed at:
* Top management and leading figures in industry, commerce, publishing
houses, administration, politics, law and culture * Scientists and
academics from various related disciplines * Technical writers,
translators, interpreters and terminologists
The conference starts 23.11.2000 at 4 p:m with the IALB/IVSW AGM
(Members only). At 6:30 a Keynote Paper will be held (open to all,
including students and staff). From 7:30 there will be a Reception.
The conference closes 25.11.2000 at 1:00 p:m.
Conference fees

Members: Registration before 31 August: 140 Euro, thereafter 160 Euro
Non-members: Registration before 31 August: 170 Euro, thereafter 190
Euro Students: 50 Euro Dinner Party (also for accompanying persons):
30 Euro
The normal conference fee includes the conference documents, coffee
breaks, buffet lunch, Reception/ Dinner Party, conference proceedings.
New members enjoy all the privileges of existing members (please ask
for the membership application form from the secretary of
International Association Language and Business).
